School WORKSHOPS
We offer workshops for primary (Key Stage 1 and 2) and secondary (Key Stage 3) pupils, as well as a curriculum-focused GCSE Citizenship workshop and A-Level sessions.
Visits run on Fridays only, 10-12noon and 1-3pm. Workshops cost £100 per class of up to 34 pupils (accompanying adults go free). Please see below for more details about the workshop content, and to download our visit information. If your class has more than 34 pupils, please contact us in the first instance to discuss.

Once you’ve discussed the date with us, please download and complete a booking form (below) and email it to us at hello@pankhursttrust.org.Â
Please note there is NO BOOKING until we have received a completed booking form from you, and we have sent you written confirmation.Â
Primary schools
Bring up to 34 pupils for a 2-hour workshop led by museum staff and volunteers, with interactive, hands-on and creative activities. This workshop is suitable whether you have just started learning about the suffragettes or are further on with the topic. You’ll also be able to take some of the activity work back to school to help continue conversations in the classroom.
Secondary schools
Our 2-hour KS 3 workshop is designed for up to 34 pupils and includes investigative, interactive and creative activities that are ideal for this age group. The museum team will lead the workshop, with activity work that can be taken back to the classroom after the visit.Â
We also offer a more curriculum-focused Citizenship workshop that is suitable for Year 9s or GCSE students, which explores the campaigning techniques and methods used by the suffragettes, as well as some media sources of the time.
Specialist Schools/Alternative Provision
We believe all pupils should feel welcome in our museum and included in our workshops, even if they are not in mainstream schools. We can offer more tailored workshops that respect the learning needs of your pupils, as well as welcoming smaller and mixed age groups, including teenagers who are not on a GCSE pathway.Â
Please get in touch if you would like to find out more about how we can accommodate your pupils’ needs and offer a workshop that they will find engaging and enriching.
Colleges
We offer a 2-hour workshop for A-Level students, designed for students studying a range of courses, including history, politics and sociology. The workshop includes a guided museum tour, a film exploring the arguments for and against women’s suffrage at the time, and some creative graffiti-chalking for students to try out one of the methods suffragettes used to find their voice. We can accommodate up to 34 students per workshop, with accompanying adults going for free.
